What helps with postpartum soreness?

Ice packs, witch hazel pads, sitz baths and a peri bottle are common, along with rest. Ask your provider what is right for your birth and any stitches.

When should I call my provider after giving birth?

Call right away for heavy bleeding such as soaking a pad in an hour, fever, a severe headache, chest pain, trouble breathing, or leg pain and swelling. Do not wait for your checkup.

General information only, not medical advice. Ask your doctor, midwife or pediatrician about your situation.
