Not medical advice

Content on Momious is for general information only. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Always talk with your doctor, midwife, lactation consultant or pediatrician about your pregnancy, recovery, feeding choices and your baby's health. Never ignore professional advice or delay seeking it because of something you read here.

Pregnancy and postpartum

Before using any supplement, vitamin, herbal tea, compression product, support belt, exercise equipment or medicated product, check with your healthcare provider. What is right for one person may not be right for another. If you think you have a medical emergency, call your local emergency number.

Safe sleep

Follow current guidance from the American Academy of Pediatrics: place babies on their backs to sleep, on a firm, flat sleep surface, with no loose blankets, pillows or soft toys. No product, monitor or device can prevent SIDS or replace safe sleep practices and supervision.

Car seats, strollers and other gear

Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for installation, weight and age limits. Check the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission at cpsc.gov for recalls before and after you buy baby products, especially car seats, bassinets, cribs and sleepwear. Products can be recalled or discontinued after we feature them.

Skincare, feeding and health products

Stop using any product that irritates skin or causes a reaction, and ask a healthcare professional. For feeding, follow your pediatrician's guidance and the manufacturer's preparation and cleaning instructions.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for deciding whether a product is suitable for you and your baby. See also our terms of use.
